We marvel at the wonderful process of photosynthesis which combines in such a mysterious manner the moisture, elements, and organic compounds, to form the sweet esters which, through flowers, fill the atmosphere with fragrant perfume. Greater is the miracle performed by the grace of God, which quickens and converts a vile and abhorrent sinner, and makes his life a sweet savour before both God and man. The article by Thomas Wilkie in the Devotional Section, deals with the attractive fragrance and positive usefulness of godly living. The Christian’s life, through the power of the indwelling Spirit, may be as victorious as that suggested by the lofty palm, and as defensive as that suggested by the replant cedar.

“What is the greatest need in the Church today?” enquired one Christian of another. “More godly living,” was the prompt reply.

There may not appear too much connection between the article in the Devotional Section and the one by David Leathem in the Doctrinal Section, but there is a definite relationship. “For we must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ.” There we shall receive either the Lord’s commendation or suffer loss. The hope of His approbation should excite greater piety in our lives, and the fear of His disapproval should deter in us the spirit of carnality and worldliness.

With much profit and pleasure, the complete manuscript of another booklet by David Kirk, has been read. The title, “Joseph’s Bones,” does not give much indication of the contents of this excellent dissertation upon the significance and value of the Lord’s Supper. A digest of the entire manuscript will be found in the Expository Section. It is hoped that this smaller article will induce readers to secure the complete work, in order to profit from it, and to use it in teaching other Christians the sweetness of the Memorial Feast. When published it may be obtained from our brother Lloyd Walterick, Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Many of God’s people have not learned; and, consequently, do not practise the lesson that Ernest Sprunt endeavours to teach the Lambs of the Flock. All of God’s people are urged not only to read the article, but to practise the precept.

We appreciate the response made to our request that subscribers attend to their renewals. Notice should be given to the adjustment of the price, one year $1.50, two years $2.75, three years $4.00.

May this publication be for the glory of God, and for the edification of the Body of Christ. To this end an attempt is made to induce Bible study, and by means of The Forum to exchange in a friendly manner thoughts upon subjects which appear difficult.
