Consider the following points in evaluating discussion leaders.

be encouraging rather than overly critical (on every point, stick to the “majors.”

         Responds well to others and gives appropriate feedback, with sensitivity, based on good listening).

         Did the leader handle well the attendees’ wrong, superficial or confused responses; allow them to stray off topic?

balanced participation, controlling “over-talkers” and bringing in non-talkers.


 

5.
         Stayed within time limit.


 

6.
         Used many questions including counter questions.
  Did not lecture.

  Ice-breaker opening questions can be helpful, if they help stay within the main topic or do not go too long.
