Book Review

Reception to God’s Assembly: W. Bunting; Northern Publishing Office, Ann Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Over 25,000 copies of this pamphlet have been sold. We have been advised recently that the fourth edition is now on sale.

In the preface to this last edition, the author says, “This revised and slightly enlarged edition is sent forth with the earnest prayer that its contents may be blessed to many.”

We have been asked to draw special attention to the content of pages 26-30. This we do not only conscious of the wrongs there mentioned but of other similarly unscriptural practices.

The author suggests: “Prove all things, hold fast that which is good” (1 Thess. 5:21).

May be obtained through: Northern Publishing Office, Ann Street, Belfast, Ireland; John Ritchie Ltd., Kilmarnock, Scotland; or William Bunting, 14 Somerton Park, Belfast 15, Ireland.

Two other small booklets have been submitted for review:

My Reasons for not Being Free to Engage in Inter-Denominational Service: William Trew; John Ritchie Ltd., Publishers, Kilmarnock, Scotland.

This in substance is an address given before an audience who assumed a church position in obedience to what they had ascertained from the Word of God, and is now an appeal in writing to all who appreciate Christian simplicity.

May be procured from Ormer G. C. Sprunt, Apartment 502, 111 The West Mall, Etobicoke, Ontario. Price 10 cents.

The Use and Abuse of the Term “Brethren”: Rowland C. Edwards; 204 Lydham Avenue, Rockdale, New South Wales, Australia.

Whether or not one accepts all that is presented in this pamphlet does not detract from the honest attempt to confront an evil, nor from the appeal for a more scriptural use of terminology. This is a thought-provoking treatise.

May be obtained directly from the author.
