Book Review
The Book of the Revelation: Lehman Strauss; Loizeaux Brothers, Neptune, New Jersey, U.S.A.
These recently published outline studies of the Apocalypse meet a definite need. Obviously the Church is nearing the end of her pilgrimage. Defection from the truth and its standards appears in every department of Christendom. The lack of zeal and devotion in the Church of the Living God has developed in large proportions.
This exposition, written from the futurist’s perspective directs the feet of the saints in these last days; exposes the character and intention of apostasy; and challenges the failure in fidelity to the Word of God and in devotion to Christ.
The volume is lucidly written and very methodically arranged; these make for ready reference.
While each chapter is thought provoking, the two chapters treating respectively the “overcomers” and the “woman clothed with the sun” are exceptionally good.
Here is a volume of things new and old for the student of prophecy. While in minor points of interpretation we differ from Dr. Strauss, and feel that literalism is inappropriately forced in a few passages of his work, we warmly recommend the perusal of each chapter.
