William Carey, Father of Modern Missions, Walter Bruce Davis: A Moody Pocket Book, Moody Press, Chicago, Illinois.

Many missionaries today are convinced that the objective of Dr. Carey in India was sound, and that his method should become their own. Dr. Carey firmly believed that his work was to prepare and direct native preachers and teachers to propagate Christianity among their own peoples. He was persuaded that the native preacher had more acceptance and more influence with nationals than did the foreign missionary.

This concise history of the man and his ministry is informative, inspirational, and directive, and should be read by all who have the work of God at heart.
