THE MIDDLE EAST — War Theatre of Prophecy, Dr. Fredk. A. Tatford, Litt. D. Advent Testimony and Preparation Movement, Inc. Kingsway Hall, London, W.C. 2, England.

This booklet was received for review by this office only a few days ago; consequently, we do not have the Canadian or American prices, but suggest that 25 cents will cover both cost and postage.

The first reaction in the reading of these few chapters is one of surprise, if not shock. In reviewing contemporary books on prophecy, one is frequently repelled by the apparent speculative approach; there is little of that in Dr. Tatford’s treatment of his subject.

He has acquainted himself well with his material which he has gathered from the Bible, current events, the statements of world leaders, and the writings of scientific societies and men.

A forceful impact results from the reading of each page, an impact which deepens the conviction and the Second Advent of Christ is much more imminent than many Christians think. That the Middle East has been, is, and will be the most important earthly centre in all God’s purpose toward men, is obvious. From out of it, humanly speaking, came our salvation; to it, God will gather His enemies; upon it, He will pour out His final premillennial judgment.

This pamphlet deals with the nations of the Middle East identifying the ancient with the modern. It likewise deals with the natural resources of these nations, recent events affecting them, and Biblical prophecies concerning them.

In a most interesting chapter (5), the doctor treats of the future possible physical and geological changes in that area after the descent of Christ as King. Of course, he, in this connection, has a chapter on The Battle of Armageddon.

This pamphlet merits wide distribution. May many who read be aroused to the brevity of the time remaining for testimony.
