Daily Bread 1971
In our self-centered world little or no thought is given to others.
Sadly, this often carries over into the local assembly. Many saints seem to float along in
their own little world, often occupied solely with their own difficulties or interests,
giving little thought to those around them.
The apostle Paul addresses this in Philippians 2:4, "Look not
every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." This is, of
course, not in a covetous way, but in a thoughtful way, considering others and their
burdens and trials.
It has been said, "Man will go to any length so as not to have to
think." We need to "think" more, and look beyond our own little world,
where me, myself, and I are usually the focal point.
